In 2011, Dr. William Bernet, acknowledged Joseph Goldberg
as a member of his Parental Alienation Study Group (PASG).
The PASG is a scientific group of professionals presenting a
wide body of clinical and social science research to the DSM
- 5 task force members and to the ICD- 11. (DSM, The Diag
nostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders; ICD-11, International Center of Diseases).
The compilation of this scientific data now includes hundreds
of peer reviewed articles; studies; books; and monographs,
from scientific and legal communities - in dozens of countries
around the world.
The work presented by the PASG to the ICD-11 and to DSM-
5 is aimed at the inclusion of Parental Alienation Disorder as
a new diagnosis or as an example of a relational problem for
both publications. The members of the PASG are recognized
as experts in parental alienation.
Founder of The Canadian Symposium for Parental Alienation
Joseph Goldberg was the first person to form an educational
entity to present science based data to professionals and parents
on the subject of Parental Alienation and Parental Alienation
Syndrome (2009). In the 1st year of its existence, the CSPAS
contracted with The Metro Toronto Convention Centre to host the
first worldwide conference on Parental Alienation Syndrome.
Twenty of the most renowned experts in parental alienation from
professions including: psychiatry, psychology, and family law gave
speaker presentations during this three day event.
The conference was widely covered by international members of
the press and it was the first conference in mental health history to
be featured on the front page of Canada's most widely circulated
Newspaper - The National Post - March 28, 2009.
